Embrace And Love Your Body

Embrace:  Accept (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically.

Embrace and love yourself for where you are on journey at this moment in time.

This was the take home message for me when I read the book and watched the documentary Embrace by Taryn Brumfitt. An everyday Australian woman dealing with the changes of her body after having 3 children. She hasn’t blamed having 3 children for the changes in her body, however it helped her come to a point of acknowledgement and acceptance and embrace that this is where she is at this point in her life. And the message of embracing your self and your body is inspiring thousands of woman around the world to love and accept themselves for who they are.

If you follow a few of the New Zealand social media fitness and wellness celebrities such as Makaia Carr or Millie Elder-Holmes, this is a message they are sharing with their followers at the moment and its fantastic to see, as it’s real kiwi chicks, who have been through lots of ‘phases’ of weightloss/ gain, fitness, life journeys just like me and you. And it’s a message that I continue to encourage of Being The Best Version of You.

Until recently I have always been trying to loose weight. LIKE FOREVER! . Sure I lost 5 kilos early this year. But I haven’t changed for a while, and really I need to hit it again for another 5, at some point. But at this point in whats going on in my life its just not the most important thing to me. If you have been following me you’ll  know that getting my head space and keeping my self from spiraling downwards was my priority and I can happily say I’ve done a bloody good job at it, and am doing pretty good . And a component of this is accepting where I am on my journey right now and my body is the way it is. Do I love my body? No – not yet. Do I accept it? Yeah. Will I try and loose 5 kilos again? Yeah – when the time is right and I know I will commit to it. Am I ready to share with the world a photo of myself in my togs – oh hell no! But I probably wouldn’t do that if I was super happy with my body.

If you get a chance to see the movie Embrace do it! The book was good, but the movie did it for me. And seeing all different woman or shapes and sizes and stages in their lives accepting who they are is motivating and confirms it’s ok to be who you are and at what ever point you are in your life. #Embrace

Don’t waste your life letting a negative perception of your self and your body control you x
